The Catholic University of America Department of Art is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition “ Crafting A Legacy” Part II. This is the second part of a continuing series featuring the art of CUA Art Department alumni. Part II features the paintings of four CUA alumni artists: Pat Goslee, Emily Greene Liddle, Regina Miele and Candace Masters. Pat Goslee paints allusive abstractions that feature intense, dynamic color with bravura brushwork. The artist states that these paintings “arise from a sense of disorientation during a time of change.” The Pop/Surrealist paintings of Emily Greene Liddle explore the genre of traditional still life subject matter that is tormented by a pervasive dark humor. Regina Miele is a painter of exceptional technical virtuosity. Her paintings present a masterful execution of the medium in her narrative figurative works and her landscapes that focus on a prescient moment in the ever changing landscape. Candace Masters explores notions of identity through portraits and symbolic narrative painting. In honor of St. Joan's 600th Birthday you are invited to attend an illustrated lecture by Dr. Nora M. Heimann, Chair, Dept. of Art at CUA. Cake will be served at this event.
