Dear friends of the Rome School,

I would like to welcome each of you to our fifth season of arts programming at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art.  This year is filled with performances and exhibitions that everyone is sure to enjoy.  Our School is now busy preparing these visual and performing arts events that showcase our very talented students, distinguished faculty, and locally and internationally renowned guest artists. We are excited to show you what we are all about when it comes to the arts!

We start this season with a very special art exhibition entitled Lorton: Paper and Lens, which highlights the works from the Lorton Art Program, an organization that provides fine arts training to thousands of residents of the DC Department of Corrections. This moving exhibition should not be missed!  Among other exciting offerings are student-conducted orchestra performances, a play written and directed by faculty, musicals, operas, the Washington International Piano Series, the Latin American Music Center Performance Series, and the annual Senior Thesis Art Exhibition. Twelve Angry Jurors, Carrie: The Musical, and Handel’s Serse are just some of the fully staged productions that will be performed by our students in the newly renovated Hartke Theatre complex.

Thank you for your continued support of the Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art. We thrive on being able to bring the arts to you! Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
