"ASBE" is a multimedia platform project that gives insight to Anorexia Subtype Binge Eating. A visual description of the disorder, the goal of "ASBE" is to bring awareness and help those suffering from the disorder by increasing the number of people who understand what they are going through. To illustrate the disorder and support for those with the disorder, I use video animation, infographic flyers, stickers, and a plate setting.
"ASBE" came to be after realizing that not enough websites talk about Anorexia Subtype Binge Eating in a digestible way. To demonstrate how aspects of Anorexia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder form one disorder, I created a short motion graphic. To highlight informative and shocking details of the disorder, I created a set of infographic flyers. In order to make the project more meaningful and interactive, I provide stickers so those at the exhibition can show support by placing a sticker on a wall. To remind everyone that the main subject of "ASBE" is the food, in front of the wall of stickers is a small table with an empty food plate.
Being that isolation is a major element of the disorder, for me, it is important that those viewing the exhibition feel welcomed. To achieve this, "ASBE" has a pastel and clean identity. With a warm color palette, I invite viewers to get to know the disorder. Through the monochromatic and clean graphics, I provide a simplified representation of a complex disorder.
