Meredith Eib, Catholic University alumna turned professor, embodies the excellence that surrounds us here at the Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art.

Eib was recently selected amongst hundreds of applicants to be part of the prestigious 2025 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Intern program. The NATS Intern program is a 10-day professional development mentorship program that pairs rising voice teachers with nationally recognized master teachers to enhance their pedagogical skills. The program invites applicants from around the country, and ultimately 12 voice teachers and 4 collaborative pianists are invited to participate.

Eib’s vocal journey was inspired by her time here as a student at Catholic University. While pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre, she performed in multiple concerts and shows, including starring as Jo March in “Little Women.” Upon graduating in 2017, she received the illustrious President’s Award: the highest university award presented to a graduating senior who has demonstrated prominent leadership, outstanding scholarship, and who exemplifies the highest ideals of Christianity.

But her love for teaching came from her own experience in voice lessons. According to Eib, “I wouldn't be a voice teacher if it weren't for my undergraduate weekly voice lessons here at CUA, which is where I learned to love the process and practice of singing.”

After performing across the region and teaching privately for a few years, Eib went on to pursue her MFA in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy as a part of Boston Conservatory at Berklee's inaugural cohort for that degree program. Upon her graduation in 2022, she returned to the Rome School as a Lecturer in Musical Theatre Voice.

Upon reflecting on her career and experiences, Eib says that “it's very full circle and meaningful for me to teach here now.”

Congratulations to Meredith Eib for this exciting honor. She reminds us all that once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal.
